Be Doers of the Word and not Hearers Only
The book of Ezra is all about the struggles of God’s people to not only hear and believe God’s Word but to then put His Word into practice! Ezra lived in a time where God was asking for His temple to be rebuilt. A command went out from the King asking the people to sacrifice with time and finances to see that the temple was fully restored. We are living in such a time where God is raising up believers to put aside their own desires and seek God first to bring awakening and revival to our land! To rebuild God’s Temple in Us!
Ezra 1:2-4 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and He hath charged me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God Of Israel, He is the God, which is in Jerusalem. And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, besides the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
Prayer for Action
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today in the name of Jesus to commit to be a true disciple of Christ. I know this requires that I lay down my will and desires and seek you for wisdom and direction in all my activities – today and always. Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Holy Spirit, you are my helper and you help me understand God’s Word and how to apply and walk it out in my everyday life. I purpose from this day forward to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and to be a doer of the Word! I know that it takes faith to please you, but faith without works or action is dead. Thank you, God, that your eyes are on me and you strengthen me because my heart is committed to you! Bless the wonderful name of Jesus! Amen.
