Weekly Kindness Challenge
Be in the driver’s seat of kindness this week by letting someone have your parking spot. So often we aggressively are on the prowl for the best and closest parking spot when driving around in a parking lot. This week pass up the parking spot you have been eyeballing and let the other person behind you have it. If you don’t drive, let someone that’s behind you in line go in front of you. Bonus points if you leave an encouraging note on someone’s car OR give someone a compliment in line
Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor. Proverbs 21:21 (English Standard Version)
Physical Benefit of Kindness
Kindness is good for your heart. Having a healthy heart will surely help us live a longer life. When you are kind, the hormone oxytocin is released which then triggers the movement of a chemical called nitric oxide in blood vessels, which expands the blood vessels. This reduces blood pressure and therefore oxytocin is known as a ‘cardio protective’ hormone because it protects the heart (by lowering blood pressure).
